About the Director
Sarah Hinds is an artist, educator, and the mother of two children, Lily and Lotus.
As an artist, Sarah creates hand blown glass and multimedia art at her home artist retreat, Somewhere Glassworks. She shows her work at galleries and fine arts festivals, as well as doing  public and private commissions. A sampling of her art can be found on her website- somewhereglass.com.

Sarah has a rich and varied teaching experience. She has taught adult hot glass courses through Santa Fe College’s Community Education program. She taught Elementary Art at Expressions Learning Arts Academy for many years, and has taught extracurricular children's art programs at Jordan Glen School and Morning Meadow Preschool. She has also worked at several area camps teaching everything from art to science to campfire songs.

Currently, Sarah is an Artist in Residence at UF Health Shands Hospital, engaging adult and pediatric patients, families and staff in visual art activities. http://artsinmedicine.ufhealth.org/
Beyond the hospital walls, she teaches art in the community at GrowHub for adults with disabilities, in rural Special Education classrooms through grants from Arts4All Florida, and to college students through University of Florida's Center for Arts in Medicine.

Sarah is a true believer in hands on education (warning: your kids will come home messy!) and the combination of physical play and creative projects. Our work, our play and our song in us becomes our light. She is honored and blessed to work with so many bright children in the Gainesville community!
